To The Armies of the Lord!
The First Shall Be Last and the Last Shall Be First
I remember hearing that some of the most
successful armies from long ago were made up of peasants. This is because they
were used to hard work, uncomfortable conditions, and no allowance for giving
up. And so their inner strength was born. I hear God saying that this is the
time we are now moving in. Those who struggled and did not give up will reap
the reward of their struggles. Harvest, new harvest, for seeds long ago planted
and tended to. Sudden rewards. To the world, this isn’t right or fair. (Matthew
20:1-16) On the surface it will seem that many of us are being publicly handed
riches and gifts that were unearned. There may be jealousy and outcry. (John
21:20-22) Our prayers in the dark are being answered in the light and we will
rejoice in humble adoration. I also sense a warning that some things will be
answered and rewarded in the spirit, while we are used to receiving in the
flesh. Human courtesies that were once extended may now be revoked. Respect and
friendliness given from others in the past may be replaced with jealousy and
suspicion. I hear the Lord ask, “Who do you want to receive from?” We choose
You, Father! I hear the words Promotion and Exhortation. (I need to look up
exhortation!) If you have grown arrogant, if you have grown lazy, if you have
grown soft from luxury after luxury that the Lord has bestowed on you, take
heed! He still loves you! He is calling to you now and revealing His plans to
you that you will once again humble yourself in His presence and in His
service. God will not abandon you, but many have abandoned Him in favor of
comfort and ease. Expectations must change as scales are being recalibrated for
this season. At work we had a money counter, and on occasion the money would
not add up because the counter had to be recalibrated. In order to do this, all
of the money had to be removed before we could reset (or recalibrate) the
machine. Once it was working correctly, the money could then be restored.
